SUSTAINABILITY

SDGs Initiatives

Starting in 2021, Nippon Seal holds an SDGs Promotion Committee meeting once a month. In December 2023, we obtained SBT certification with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 42% (compared to the base year). Recognizing the importance of SDG initiatives, we aim to preserve the global environment and achieve a sustainable society through the provision of products and services that are friendly to both people and the environment, as well as through our overall corporate activities.

INITIATIVE

Participation in Initiatives and Certification

Small and Medium Enterprise SBT Certification (SMEs)

This involves balancing greenhouse gas emissions with absorption. In October 2020, the government declared its aim to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, meaning total greenhouse gas emissions should reach zero. Achieving "zero emissions as a whole" means subtracting the "absorption" from afforestation, forest management, etc., from the "emissions" of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, resulting in a net total of virtually zero.
To achieve carbon neutrality, it is essential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and preserve and enhance absorption mechanisms.

Nippon Seal has held an SDGs Promotion Committee meeting once a month since fiscal 2021, continuing our efforts toward the SDGs. In December 2023, we obtained SBT certification with the goal of reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 42% (compared to the base year).
